(NewsNation) — A week after reelection as an Indiana county commissioner, Republican candidate John Jessup pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting his daughter in Las Vegas earlier this year.

Jessup, a Hancock County, Indiana, commissioner, has sat in a Las Vegas jail since June when he was arrested on a felony sexual assault charge against a woman he knew outside of a gentleman’s club.

“I’m not a big drinker, but as soon as we got there he started drinking and kept telling me I had to keep up with him, and he kept ordering me drinks and making me drink them, getting me drunk,” Rachel Jessup told the Greenfield Reporter.

“When I woke up, I knew I had been touched in a way I did not want to be touched.”
